Founded fifty years ago, Federal Tire has grown steadily into the tire company it is today, by using breakthrough technology and continued investment in future products. Devoted to customer satisfaction, Federal goes too great lengths achieve a quality product offered to each client. Federal produces tires for High Performance, Light Truck, and Touring vehicles.

Federal offers one of the best High Performance tires, with the SS535 tire. The SS535 combines performance and comfort to produce a remarkable tire. Federal, guaranteeing a great tire, used the latest technology called TTIC, allowing the product to give the customer comfort and quality every time the tire is used. Three radius tread design is used to deliver even pressure throughout the tire and a flange protector that gives expensive rims more protection from bending and getting scuffed. The SS535 was built because the customer deserves it. Even better, Federal ensures quality with Opti-Noise Technology to give the driver a quiet and comfortable ride.

Produced for Touring Vehicles, the Formoza FD2 tire series was designed by Federal. The Formoza FD2 is the second-generation FD series tire, following the FD1. The FD2 has the most up to date technology called D.P.E.T. (Disorder Pitch Evolution Theory), which reduces noise levels while still maintaining excellent performance and handling at high speeds. A wider solid center rib increases straight-line stability and an on-center feel for the driver. Federal designed the FD2 with safety in mind, with wide circumference grooves and tread patterns, increasing rapid water evacuation, eliminating the possibility of hydroplaning to ensure safety on wt and dry road surfaces.

The MS357 H/T series is designed and manufactured for SUV's. The MS357 series features all season highway performance that gives the driver a smooth, comfortable, and quiet ride. The exotic styling enhances the look of any SUV making the tire appeal to style conscious customers. Specially designed tread grooves that excavate water from the tire, increases handling and overall control on wet surfaces. To handle even the worst surfaces, the MS357 series has tough sidewall reinforcements that give the tire durability and longer overall life.

In addition to great tires for cars and trucks, Federal Tire produces a line of high performance Federal Motor-Sports series tires. THE FZ-201 is the finest street legal racing tire that Federal Tire manufactures. This extremely unique tire has a semi-slick shoulder area with an enhanced R compound tread design. The FZ-201 is the ideal tire that delivers road and race performance.

New York Tire Dealers Association in Amityville, NY

Way back in April 1921, a group of tire dealers met at the old Automobile Club of America on West 54th Street and founded our association pledged, "To do business on the square." J.R. Benedict of the Hewitt Rubber Company, a tire manufacturer, called the initial meeting. Jerome T. Shaw of Tires magazine assisted in arranging the first meeting. In 1934, the association held its largest meetings and took an outstanding part in problems as they related to the independent tire dealer. It was at this time the name was changed to Greater New York Tire & Battery Association. In June 1937, the association entered into a contract with Charles F. Root under which Mr. Root assumed the general management of the organization.

For many years, no apparent need for a local organization seemed to exist and the only function held was the annual dinner dance. In 1969, Bert Schwarz asked Fred Dresdale, a past president of the National Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association and a member of our local organization, to take the presidency. Under Fred's guidance, along with the help of men like Al Hansel, Dan Chiswick, Harry Jaffess, Steve German, Frank L. Cohen and Herb King, the organization was revitalized. The name was changed again to the Greater New York Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association. In 1989, the Officers and Board of Directors enacted a new set of by-laws to encompass the entire state of New York. Hence, the new name of the organization, the New York Tire Dealers Association.
